Rhystadt is committed to the long-term, sustainable development of the Klybeck site and is creating, across an area of around 160,000 m², a green, mixed-use and climate-friendly neighbourhood that offers added value for the entire region. Whether for living, working or spending your free time here.
Extensive investigations, ongoing systematic monitoring and strict legal requirements: the contamination of the Klybeck site is well documented. Together with Swiss Life, Rhystadt has published over 250 investigation reports, so that everyone can get an impression for themselves.
During the long-term development phase of the Klybeck site, the existing structures offer a wide range of temporary uses. For example, there are studio, laboratory and office spaces available.
The klybeckplus project will see the Klybeck site being developed into a green, mixed-use, climate-friendly neighbourhood by the planning partners: the canton of Basel-Stadt, Rhystadt, and Swiss Life. By 2040, the former industrial site will provide space for 8,500 residents and 7,500 jobs as well as facilities for leisure and culture – while preserving its identity and atmosphere and featuring public green spaces and open areas.
